Question About College Athletes

Colleges make big money off their athletic programs. Some athletes get full scholarships. My question though is about Medical insurance. Do colleges pay for the medical insurance coverage of its athletes or do the athletes have to provide their own coverage. I would hope that the colleges pay at least for in season, Temporary insurance of some kind if not year round insurance. I'm sure this must be governed by some NCAA regulation. What is the policy?
